3 more days to go…

2008 will be over soon in a few hours time.. Of course, I have some good moments and some bad ones. They are on the extreme ends. Ok, I’ll rephrase.. some very good ones and some very bad ones.. This year had actually started very well.. I love my job, I got to travel to places I’ve never been to, did things I’ve never done or thought of doing before, got myself new “babies”, started a blog, made new friends & above all, the definite highlight of the year was meeting Mariah Carey. You can read it here if you haven’t already..

Then my life took a big turn and went straight downhill.. As you know, the latest and worst of all was leaving the office behind.. But well, life has its turns.. Nonetheless, I think it has been a good year for me and I have learned a lot of things. I seriously hope and believe that next year will be a whole lot better for me and I hope it’ll be the same for you guys.. Anyway, I wanna wish all of you a Happy New Year and may the coming new year brings you more happiness and meanings in life.. I hope you’ll have a wonderful celebration tonight.. I can’t believe I still have no concrete plans about tonight.. :\

5 more days to go…

It was Tuesday, 23rd December 2008… The office was quiet as usual that day. Nobody except for one colleague was present. I was told to check my email. So I logged in to my account and was surprised to see an email from my manager there. Its subject was “Early Release Form”. So I opened it up… It was indeed a form that stated I was relieved from duty with immediate effect.

So slowly, I packed my stuffs on my desk and around it clean.. I have to keep Keanu Reeves & Adam Brody in too… No Steven Gerrard yet.. ;P   My colleague briefly asked me whether it’s my last day today and I just answered yes… Then he asked me the golden questions.. “Why don’t you work till the end of the month?” and “Why do you want to leave?”.  I just smiled at him and continued packing my stuffs.

After completing my final project, I packed my last few things while looking back on my time spent there.. It was just my luck.. I even thought of leaving a note or something to my manager/boss. Then I thought, “What the hell? They did not even bother to be here in the first place”. Finally at half past midnight, I was done with everything.. Took a last look at my empty table, the quiet office, switched off the lights and closed the doors. A very lonely departure indeed…
