Jupiter, Venus & Moon Conjunction…
|
Last Monday (Dec 1st 2008), I went straight to the Barrage after work.. It was about 8pm. The weather didn’t look too good. Thick dark clouds were already hovering above our heads. On our way there, it rained for a little while.. It wasn’t too heavy, but it still rained. That was not a good sign. I kept looking at the sky but could not locate them. At the bringe of giving up, I saw Venus! Yeah! Venus is the brighter of the two lights. I still couldn’t find the Jupiter and the moon though. But shortly later, as the sky was starting to clear up a little, I saw Jupiter. 2 down, one more to go! We parked the car and went straight up.
So the waiting game started …. I took some shots of the two planets while waiting for the moon to appear. Half an hour gone, still no moon… Half an hour more before I have to leave to somewhere. Then out of nowhere, the moon’s glow suddenly appears below the the two planets. Another batch of thick clouds on the right was already quickly threatening to cover them up again.. So I tried to take some shots of it. But alas, the time was too short. The moon failed to appear fully and I did not get a good shot. The moon was gone again and little by little, all 3 were covered up. |
We waited a while more. Half hour later, still no signs of any of them. So, decided to leave… How sad… Anyway, below is the only shot that I got to take and unfortunately, the moon was covered by the clouds. And the shot is not well-focused.. Oh wells…! I tried… =/

Looks like a face to me with 2 eyes and a mouth. I think I can even see traces of a nose. LOL!

Yeah… It was supposed to be a smiley face.. In some countries, the face was with a frown or a shocked expression. Some places like ours got a smiley face.. But I couldn’t get a clear shot.. I’ve already added the flickr link for you guys to see. Very beautiful pictures taken all over the world… =)
