I'd be furious if I were you. That is just ridiculous. It sounds like they are just dragging this out to see if you'll give up. People purposely make things hard thinking that people will think it's too much work (or money, time etc.) to get what is owed to them. But, I don't blame you for giving them one more chance, hiring a lawyer is a lot of money and hassle. It's a hard situation to be sure. I'm glad you got at least part of your money though. Good luck!
